I open doors for men or women. I also quite clearly say "you're welcome" when they don't acknowledge itYep same here in having manners instilled in me , Including elbows off the table or opening a door for a lady , sorry side tracked as per usual
But indeed manners cost nothing and seems that many just can’t be bothered
Not because I do it to be thanked, but because common courtesy is disappearing.
