My 2001 range rover 4.6 auto has started after about 4 miles to tick underneath, when stopped with the stick in either P or N it persists,

hi is it a tick or a ching sound as if its a ching i had the same problem and it was some plate in the auto box hope this helps

Had a strange one a couple of years back. Got a loud ticking noise which got louder and faster with speed. Turned out to be the heat shield had dropped and was hitting off the UJ on the front propshaft!!!
