Well troopers
Got myself a thumping headache, and then there's the Freelander
Thumping vibration when on the accelerator, seems to ease when coasting and freewheeling, but still present.
My immediate thought was CV joint on the driveshaft(s), the thumping increases with vehicle speed, not engine speed,
I wont do more than 50mph (its pretty bad) thumping around 3-4 times a second at 50mph, can feel it at my feet and hear it clearly.
I have checked the driveshafts, small amount of play of inner CV on drivers side, not massive play though, not enough to convince me???
IRD is quiet, no grinding or lumpiness when rotating in neutral and in gear.
Im in 2wd without the prop? 87k miles, this thumping seemed to come about fairly quickly
Any other opinions??
I have a spare set of driveshafts, will keep you posted if I decide to fit and report back
