hi everyone,

recentley my defender has started making a banging noise/thud when taking up drive, the noise is definetley comeing from the rear. i changed the rear prop and uj's not so long ago as the slider was siezed solid, fitted new uj's as good practice. When driving and changing gears at speed it dosnt do it, just when setting off. Had a look underneath and a poke around but cant see any problems, cant see it being diff as i fitted a pair of td5 axles off a 54 plate. any help would be much appreciated

sound, cheers lads ill be looking that up in busters "how to do it". i had my supsicions that was the problem from searching the forum. does anybody know why this causes the banging noise?

thanks for yer help everybody. will crack on with it and replace it. over years driving landys ive got a steady clutch foot lol, my mrs on the other hand still drives it like shes driving her old peugeot and im sure this noise has progressed since she had the spare set of keys :doh:
