I have found (when testing on my drive) that the throttle can get stuck on. I have located the cause, which you can see in the first photo, where the vertical shaft is getting stuck under the horizontal shaft. So i have got something wrong, but not obvious what.

I was thinking that if i could move the anchor point for the engine end of the horizontal shaft in the direction of the wheel (away from the engine) it would stop snarling. But it is not obvious how.

The bracket shown in the photo in the parts diagram is bolted to a vertical bracket on the engine side. I did wonder if it should be outside the vertical bracket (i.e. wheel side).

Or is there something else i have got wrong e.g. with the linkage to the carb?

I worked it out in the end. A PO had installed a weber carb and had put a couple of minor bends in the linkage arm to scoot it around the vertical linkage. I had installed the arm back to front (as normally it should go either way), so the bends worked the wrong way. When i swapped the ends around, it then fitted fine.
