I got 1999 freelander petrol 1.8 and have the HD TC and ABS lights stay on all the time. Replaced brake light switch old one with 2 wires and also tested ABS sensors all 4, got about 9.3 average on mutlimeter. Checked wires on hill descent gear stick all in tack, lights still on any ideas.

Hi, I have a 2000 1.8 petrol with the same fault, mine has the abs module under the drivers seat, I will be changing the abs module next week so will let you know if that cures it,

Best thing to do is plug it into a reader - it'll tell you what's wrong. I've had it 2 times on my '99 and both times have been the main modulator in the engine bay.

Mine says back left sensor, new sensor fitted, new ring, wires, resistance, voltage checked, thought I would go abs ecu first as it was the cheapest option, starting to lose hope of ever turning off the 3 amigos

+1 on the reader.

Also, it is quite possible for the problem to be fixed and the lights still be on. They need to be cleared on a machine. The machine may display no fault codes, but will still mysteriously clear "Something". Happened to me early this year. (Offside rear sensor). Was pulling my hair out, but had actually fixed the problem.

mine turned out to be the gravity sensor next to the hand break under the centre console
the plug had come of due to me working on the hand break cables and not realising there was a sensor there but I do not know if you have one there or not but the man with the reader did delete any faults that were there.

Hi had car plugged in today came up with faults no16 shuttle valve switch failure intermittert also came up with no21 pwm signal failure from engine ecu. codes cleared and drove home about 10 miles, lights still off if they come on in week will send new post

Both times I've had modulator (shuttle valve) faults they have been cleared and come back quite quickly. I replaced the unit.

Had mine checked, rear left abs is now good, but now I have a front right abs fault?.. coincidence or gremlins? Might just give up on it and break it for spares!
