It told us which sensors the issue was with (which was both rear sensors), it also said the voltage was low on them and that they had also gone open circuit. This was because I fit extension cables while the ignition was on. BUT I did need to reset the codes for the dash to clear.

I'm sure it would be able to tell you if the infamous shuttle valve is the fault or an ABS sensor (more importantly, WHICH sensor, lol)

So did you have the 3 amigos?

When you say you are sure, do you know for a fact? again just interested.
I have always wanted to load a car with known faults and try each of the "diagnostic" units to see what it sates.

I have Nanocom if you live near Southampton. And yes, I had the three amigos, I actually bought my nanocom, but it hadn't arrived when I used the iCarSoft and my mate just happened to be around with it.

I don't know for certain that it will diagnose EVERY fault. But I haven't been able to test it extensively.
 
As for Nanocom Vs Hawkeye Total. The hawkeye will do all landrovers now for £300. But the Nanocom will do things like coding keys, changing injector codes etc. But it is dedicated to Disco 2 and Defender TD5 only, for a hefty price tag of £350.

Update on this afternoon's escapade ....
  1. Nanocom plugged in and showing "SVS Electrical" in SLABS. So that was cleared and I showed Dylan what needed to be done to clear that for good.
  2. Next was the M+S lights flashing ..... Don't anybody say it's the XYZ switch, a manual Disco hasn't got a bloody XYZ switch. Turns out that his replacement instrument pack was out of an auto, so effected the change with the nanocom and wrote the changes to the BCU. All good.
  3. Last problem was the SRS light refused to go out. So that could be either one of the SRS airbags, the rotary coupler under the steering wheel or one of the seat belt pre-tensioners popped. Dylan did say that the vehicle did belong to his brother, and that fault was showing then. Any advice would be welcome.

I'll have a PM chat with Dylan about that and if he needs any help with the SVS mod.
 
I have been using an autel unit for about 2 years done everything i needed it too. They do various versions but for the money it's ok if you want it for land rovers only then go with Hawkeye but if you want it to do different vehicles then autel is a good alternative.
 
Right ho. Update time.
Dylan has trailered the Disco to another of his mates farm, much closer to me too.
I rocked up to see him today and plugged in the Nanocom again.
The SVS fault had returned so we removed the switch plate and after testing the switches and the resistors on it, we applied the modification as per Option "B" on the website http://landroverclubvi.weebly.com/abs-mod.html and cleared the logged fault. So that should be that, until a hub sensor goes tits up.
We then tackled the SRS fault. The Nanocom declared that it couldn't connect to the SRS DCU which prompted the question from me "Have we got a blown fuse?". Answer was no, not a blown fuses, but no fuse at all! Fuse replaced and faults read, "intermittent driver's airbag". So, as with all intermittent faults, I cleared the logged fault and now will wait to see if re-occurs. If it does, then is the time to do something about it; it's probably in the rotary coupler.
While I was there with Dylan, and just to please @neilly, I made sure that he had a copy of the EKA.
So, all-in-all, a fairly productive day this time.
