It had problems going from gear to gear it revved ok in gear and the clutch worked just the clutch was bitting just off the floor so if i am low on gearbox oil im thinking this could be the cause
Clutch on the floor could be sticky lever and/or broken slave bracket or just worn master. It had problems going from gear to gear it revved ok in gear and the clutch worked just the clutch was bitting just off the floor so if i am low on gearbox oil im thinking this could be the cause
Yeah Nodge i am thinking it was low on oil
Ali the arm moves freely back and forth, the master and slave were just replaced with a new one
so now i have the ird box out i just have a few of the arm mount bolts to undo than the gearbox should come out i had to go purchase a new trolley jack they were on special $99.50
when i removed the ird box oil came out the right side and a little bit of oil came out of the gearbox but not much maybe 100mls in total from the gearbox
how are u guys getting a jack up under the ird box with the dog bone frame sitting under the bottom?
Is it possible to replace the rear crank seal while i have the clutch out?
Cam seal leaks are common on K series. They're a B####r to replace so make sure you get a couple of them cause you'll likely trash the first one. Thanks Nodge i already have the clutch back on with 3 bolts, lost one and cut one off that rounded and keeping the sixth one to get some replacements tomorrow or monday, I looked up the LR rear seals and looks like i may screw it up so i wont be doing the seal I'm still unsure where all the oil is coming from its all over the inside of the flywheel area, all over the ird box, all over the front drive shaft ports, there is leaking oil from the cam cover but i am unsure how bad the engine looks to have just been washed and it was leaking on my trip home so possibly the oil has leaked from here down all over and inside the engine
i already installed the throw out bearing but can't seem to get it back off looks like we might get some rain and i have the gearbox out in the open just tucked under the bumper
Make sure you fit all cover bolts and torque them up to the correct tension. How did you line up the clutch plate?i already have the clutch back on with 3 bolts, lost one and cut one off that rounded and keeping the sixth one to get some replacements tomorrow
I'm still unsure where all the oil is coming from its all over the inside of the flywheel area,
Good.Nodge i have a clutch alignment tool i bought when i done a full engine rebuild on my Nissan Xtrail 4 years ago,
I don't know about Ozz, but in the UK L series parts are reasonably easy to get. DMGR have them is stock.where can i buy the oil seal from? the L series engine is hard to find parts fo
i will replace the seal either way since the gearbox is an absolute mission to get off i don't want to be doing this again anytime soon
