Depends on the year of the disco early ones need to have a chip fitted in the ECU.
Later ones can have the ECU remapped.
Not had mine done but seems very popular and loads say its worth it.

I did mine i have a map thats great ,, If you have the NNN000120 ecu and have a TD5 Auto ,, i can send it to you ,,, i have been using for 2 years and have no dramas ,, EGT sit at 700 max on a massive hill towing ,,,
PM me if you want a copy ,,

Not checked the number but I think as mine is an early 2001 and the 10p engine it will need a chip fitting.
But I will check.

Mike at Dynachip will fit and map a new chip for you,as that is how he did my D2.He has many different maps,he will ask what you want out of your D2,then fit the correct map for you.

To be honest I'm not sure if I'm keeping it as I have spent a fortune on it already I knew I should have bought another 300.
I may get the love back for it but we will see.

I just missed a chipped ECU locally last month for £145 and hesitated.

If you have already spent a fortune on it,then spend a bit more and you will be surprised, at the difference the re map will make.

if yours is auto and has the "NNN" ecu ,, i can send you my map ,, if you want anything changed just let me know ,, i lifted the idle speed 50rpm just to smooth out the vibes ,, and shortened the stroke of the trotle so as its not like riding a bike ,,,
you can save your map first and if you dont like it ,,put the old map back ,,, i have given this map to 70+ people ,,,never had anyone havea bitch yet ! ..

Thanks for the offer Robert but its a manual.

I know what you mean Gemsdad but you know how it is you buy what you hope will be a decent motor and find its a not.
Then spend a bucket load and find the love is gone. I see it on the drive and it looks great but I always wonder whats going to break next.

ruffday,i know EXACTLY what you mean,i bought my D2,had to have it re chassied, done by jamesmartin on here, who did a fantastic job, then i found lots of other issues with it,had it re mapped and it was fantastic,BUT,like you the love had gone for it,so i sold it a few months later, the bloke who bought was over the moon with it.

I bet he was. Don't have to go as far as a chassis yet but in the last 6 months its had a clutch, slave cylinder, Dual Mass flywheel, FPR, MAF, thermostat, 2 front ball joints, rear wheel hub, front and rear pads and injector harness and still needs door locks and a few other bits. Got to love a landy but would have been less trouble with a 300TDi.

Had a visit from Mike @ Dynachip today.

One very happy D2 owner, he has taken away all the hesitation and made the car feel like I think it always should have, It now has the power and torque it deserves to have.

Definite recommendation from me.

Cheers

tulipandthistle I get better KPL now ,, I get over 800k`s a tank as I'm not flogging the poor thing any more ,, I'm lucky if i have ½ the throttle down i had before ,And overtaking ,,,mine would have a hear attack at 100 kph (60mph) now will putt hard with a trailer on past 140kph ,,, I have a mate with a 4.6 hse he was holding his head in shame when we did a ¼ mile drag from stop start ,, i had him by 2 car lengths >
