hi everyone, im thinking about buying a 200/300tdi disco. A lot of people tell me that they are unreliable and fall apart, are they really that bad? Are there any common problems that they get?

I'm a newbie, I only got my discovery in August and I'm still at the stage where I'm not sure whether I love it or hate it, lol . As soon as I start loving it, something goes wrong or needs fixing. That's when I hate it. But then I get such a good feeling when/if I manage to fix it that I start loving it again. But no sooner one problem is sorted, another one appears and I hate it again. And so it goes on. It really is a love/hate thing. All I'd say is, if you don't mind spending lots of time working on your car, either trying to prevent problems or fixing them, then they really are great cars. I still get a buzz out of driving it when it's all going well.
I love driving it. I love looking at it. I just don't love laying underneath it very much.
Do it i wouldnt be without mine now. Plus my misses loves driving it to.
Mine's a steaming **** bag moneypit and only on a few occasions do I stop wondering why I put up with it!
I'd rather die than have anything newer however.
