Popped in there today for a started motor for a SJ, and found 5 defender wheels with all good tyre and 1 brand new tyre. I've just bought a set of the wella 8 spoke with mud tyres on so these will be good for everyday and i can now sell the crap steel wheels:D

Oh and i paid £90 for all 5 and tyres;)

Plus i bought a snorkel and sorted my CB out. Just need the winch sorting now and a roof bar with spots and i'm done:cool:

All i found was a bloody great big rottwieler and i also found i cant run as fast as i used to
Seriouslly i used to spend a lot of time in my local scrapyard were my dad used to source car parts as he repaired them on the side this included taking off wings as you couldnt get them over the counter as copy parts ,
I would wander about looking in all the car boots and found al sorts of tools some of which i still have
Oh life was simple then

Got about 300 tie down points (as advertised in signature) - cost me £25 for the lot - currently sold £150 on eBay and still got 100's left :)

Cant beat a walk around the scrap yard. Dont get up there a lot. But something about the smell and the dirty slippy floor that i like :D

My old wheels are now on eBay, but dont think i can post a link to it on here can i? thought i read somewhere it would get deleted?

used to work in one not long ago

not as good as they used to be , having said that theres a big one near me full of trucks cars etc loads of stuff , sometimes if im bored i go up there for a wander round just looking at old 1930's gear rotting into the ground , get a few ex mod trucks etc there 2

i got 2 winches for £50, fitted one in my landy, swapped the other with a mate for some landy bits.
a set of 4 branch manifolds for rangerover for a tenner, painted and sold for £140
pair of brand new dumper tyres for the landy fifty quid and a gas conversion kit for 2.25, that was a tenner. thats just off the top of my head...
oh nearly forgot, full hydrostatic steering system that fits landy perfect, 30 :D:D:D:D:cool:

Now that sounds like an awesome scrapyard!

my dads know the boss since school so i can get stuff really cheap, and the local offroad has a few people who will take anything to an event and trash it, meaning it tends to end up in there...
the gas conversion was actualy off a forklift but it fitted straight onto the 2.25 :D

Hi Ludo, which scrap yard was this, kindly send their website or email address, I am desperately looking for doors for my defender station wagon.
