I've read a lot of posts on this forum about nightmares with buying Discoverys and as I'm thinking of buying a late TD5 I have to ask the question - Surely they can't be bad cars?
I'm told, even by Land Rover owners, that the Toyota Land Cruiser is much more reliable, but then in nearly 40 years of driving I've only had two cars dump me - a Volvo and a Fiat: both were easy road-side fixes. I've owned a nightmare Toyota, a totally reliable Peugeot, a brilliant Cherokee, and a perfect Corvette among many others.
Considering how many people are on this forum there must be loads of satisfied Disco owners here so please tell me they're fundamentally OK. After all, I've done some work on a TD5 for a friend recently and they don't seem like complicated cars.
