Standard Road Tyres...

There is a longer vid I havn't uploaded yet, and this goes across the bottom corner of the island following the Tennyson Trial (which is currently closed - but there is a BOAT that runs alongside and across a farm which is the route we took)

I'll have to get some photos up of the trips we took!

I guess this depends on what ones definition of 'decent' is.
Yes, there are more reliable 4x4's out there - the Landcruiser has a better rep, but have you ever driven / been in one - soul-less & cheap plastics, the look for me is no winner either.
RR's for me are by far the best drive experience, nothing comes near & this outweighs the reliability reputation.
The plastics in a Land Cruiser are much better quality than the L322, headlinings don't drop either.
Nothing IMO outweighs reliability, but reliability comes at a price that I cannot afford.

With respect that's just your opinion! I rely on my car working, I drive up and down the country for work - my p38 is my daily driver, I'm lucky enough (within reason) to be able to afford any car I want - I already drive the car I want! If my car becomes unreliable it will be relegated to weekend plaything. But then if reliability was absolutely everything to me, I'd buy a chink. I think most of 'em are hateful soulless things. I'd much rather have a Fiat Panda Twin Air 4x4 over a LandCruiser! At least the Fiat has character. :behindsofa:

And fecking awful suspension/ride and terrible reliability:p Landcruisers Pajero's are jap not chink. The 7 year warranty/servicing on Kia's is very appealing:rolleyes:

I'd second this.
Mine is a daily driver (not because it has to be, we have an new AMG Merc in the household but i'll take the Rangie out every time). 40k miles over the last 2 years & never let me down. Gives me plenty of warning if something is not well.
Jap cars may win in the reliability stakes but with the mileage i can do up & down to London i want a nice experience. I've had some very nice company cars previous but none compare.

My idea on a nice experience (in respect of cars) is not feeling the need to carry diagnostics in the boot at all times.

Must admit, i only carry the EAS software & lead (from you Keith) in mine. Had 2 soft faults in 2 years that i've re-set. The longer i have mine the less paranoid i get.....said it now.

Have you driven the new Panda 4x4? They ride like a limo compared to most modern cars - let alone a P38!

If it's like any of the Fiats I've had the springs will go soft and the thing will rot away shortly after the warranty expires, that's if the electrics don't fail first:rolleyes:

The only thing that ever rotted faster than my Fiat 131 SuperMirafiori was my Alfasud - what a brilliant car before it inevitably disintegrated before my very eyes. The current Panda has a excellent reputation for build quality and rust resistance - but then it's made in Poland - sadly they are in the process of moving production back to Italy - oh dear.

All Alfas are dipped in the dead sea before paint. Did you not know that. :D:D
