andyb66 Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2009 #2 The 2.5 TDs do tend to 'breathe heavily' as they age. How much oil? A coating on the element or a puddle in the bottom of the housing?

Click to expand... take the oil filler cap off while the engine is running. Does it smoke? If yes then suspect blocked breathers, or worn/broken piston rings.
