Is there any need for attitudes like this.

You are stereotyping a lad with a 4x4 as someone who is going to tear up the countryside. the same stereotypical view that you get from other members of the public and which you strongly fight and dis-agree with.

Thanks to people like you i have been out green laning once since i bought my Defender in July, People like you treat it as a secretive club.

You started off somewhere and i dare say leached on the knowledge of others. Council's are un-helpful and Police are un-aware of rights of ways in most area's and GLASS is out of date so.

Am i right in saying that rights of way are removed through lack of use?? Well god help us all with such reluctance in sharing lanes.

I have never met a collection of hobbyists and club members who are so un-helpful with newer and less experienced members, so much so that i dread to meat the likes of what you portray online.

I dare say that you're also the sort that fails the "attitude test" when stopped by police whilst offroad driving and incurring adm171-172's, further alienating Police against offroad drivers.

Sort your attitude man.

Rant over

The Vikings way is not a greenlane, it is a mud bath. There is no reason why anyone should be driving it until it has recovered, if you still want to drive it you don't belong on the lanes. You need to go to a pay and play site where you can do what ever the hell you like and if you make it unwalkable then fine - No one cares.

The vikings way is Byway open to all traffic, meaning that Walkers, Cyclists, Horse Riders, Disabled people, Horse and Carrage ect should be able to use it easily - No one apart from seriously tricked up 4x4's can use it. That causes alot of damage to the cause of keeping the lanes open.

Maybe we are over protective of the lanes? But hey, there are very few left and we need to protect what is left. Posting info about lanes means that the tossers than wreck the lanes can just come on online and find them with no work at all. Most of the time the idiots can not be bothered to read maps ect and don't bother, meaning that everyone can use the lane as normal.

think you all need deep breaths, its winter, lanes dont hold up well this time of year, try christmas shopping with the wife if you want a challenge, or gettin parked without frustrating yourself,

I can see both sides here, it did come over a bit blunt although a valid point you made.

i have no problem staying with off the viking way if people say its in a bit of a state. if it needs time to recover i think everyone should stay off it untill it deos for future enjoyment.

I was never disputing that mate.

I just feel that the attitude of certain people is not appropriate.

Various people moan about newcomers using wrong paths and that they are lacking in etiquette, but how are they to learn this without forthcoming knowledgeable peers.

I feel that your cloak and dagger attitude is what drives people to take wrong roads, do the wrong thing and ultimately get offroaders a bad name.

Combine this with the foul attitudes that some present themselves with and there is no wonder offroaders are frowned upon
dont be a bell end.Ive met with plenty of peps off here and been shown lanes, theres no cloak n dagger bout it, however like paul sed hard work goes into finding and checking lanes so i dont post em willy and indeed nilly.

just to add more to this discussion when i was up in melton mowbray the local lads said the lane is closed and its a £1800 fine and your car empounded if caught on it.
