That matters in Africa can get a little chaotic is perhaps an understatement, in fact trying to do things in anything like the normal manner can be downright dangerous or prohibitively expensive. Not that doing things the African way is without risk, but sometimes you just have to go with the flow, as the expression goes. Thus I found myself driving a Toyota Cecilia 15 miles down a rough track in the dark on my way to a remote East Africa village, not far from Lake Victoria.

Driving back a week later, this time in the light of day I was impressed how well this car coped with the conditions and despite scraping the bottom of the car on rocks with annoying regularity there appeared no significant damage. No wonder these seem such a popular vehicle in these parts.

Hey Urban... welcome home. Are you back in the UK yet or posting from sunnier climes?

Would be good to spend a day out laning or P& P with you.

I think I have part of your seat here still too!

Cheers

Congratulations mate! The landy is fine... needs constant work but that keeps kai busy too - would be really good to see you out and about, went past your folks' place the other day since we were in the vacinity...seemed rude not to!
That's still a great little lane!

Got trips out to wales planned in the next couple of months. Should be a great weekend doing some of the country's greatest lanes. If you fancy it wou'd be most welcome to join us... about 5 groups of 5 vehicles I reckon.

Cheers mate
