Hi,
This Sandringham Six looks like the vehicle that I owned for some time.
Originally brought new into Ireland by Geological Survey of Ireland. (Was very expensive)
RHD but with speedo in Kms
Original Irish registration 1981 = 918 YZ0
The screw holes below the near side headlamp is where I had a small black perspex reg plate placed
Had large canvass cover over the back body when purchased
I bought it as a toy with a genuine 17,000Kms recorded
Drove it to the UK by ferry and sold it to Keith Gott, LR Specialists who said he had a Landscaper who was interested in buying
Best wishes with your rebuild
Geoffrey D

RE The post earlier in this thread with the scrap yard. Where is that? I would hazard a guess as somehwere in the Middle East?

I have wondered before about re-importing Land Rover from that area. Am I right that they would probably be much less affected by rust than anything in the UK?

Could well be but the shipping logistics would be a shedload more than a new galv chassis for a local one!
