Bought my missus a 1800 K-series,"Venetian Mauve" (Mr Whippy Purple) Freelander couple of weeks ago, travelled 150 miles to collect it, (yet another Fleabay purchase), started up & let it idle until it got to working temperature to check for telltale signs of pressurisation in the jacket water, all fine exchanges readies & off I set.
Following morning goes to start it, bursts into life, idles spot on, but touch the throttle & it splutters & dies. (only when stone cold)
any ideas?
here's what I've done so far
Plugs & leads
Cap & rotor arm (carbon brush was non existant)
water temp sensor
I.A.C. valve
I.A. temp sensor
Throttle position sensor
only thing I've not changed is Crank position sensor as I didn't have one in stock!
Oh & the diagnostic socket had a poor connection to the MEMS, so the bloke with the Testbook couldn't interogate it
HELP
Brian.
