Carefull Mike, dont start that one...!!!

choose between ATF Dextron 2D, or MTF94, Land Rover started the r380 gearbox off on ATF, then looked for a better lube... along came MTF94 which is what they recomend now, or you could get some 'difflock evo'

Hahaha just read the main thread on gearbox oil debate, wish I hadnt of asked haha!

I will be going for the MTF94.... end of questions regarding type of oil haha

MTF94 - land rover will want £10 a litre, but you can get it off ebay in 5 litres for about £35 delivered, that'll be just enough for two changes, or yours and yer mates.

Drained the old oil out and replaced with MTF-94 this morning at work.

The old oil was a browny/black/red colour if that makes sense?!? any idea what type of oil that was?

Also there wasnt too much filings on the hedgehog magnet which is a good sign, will see if there is an improvement on the way home later.

Like a new box! really smooth through the gears and the crunch into 2nd has all but gone! well worth doing!
