It was quite easy. If you are putting a new bottom rail on, do that first by peeling back enough skin to do the work but leave it in place so you can position the rail correctly. When thats done, just use a blunt inch or wider wood chisel and peel it away. There is one pop rivet in the horizontal waste rail that needs to be drilled out. Once its off, grind off the adhesive with a flapper disc and then get it a good coat or two of red oxide. Stick the new skin back on with tiger seal,align the skin on the frame then re-instate the pop rivet in the waste rail. Start to hammer down the lip of the new skin. I had a length of 2x1 box section that i held under the skin as i hammered it down. I also use a 2inch bolster on the flat to dress down the lips inside the window opening.How was it reskinning the doors, easy?

Thanks Karl. Passenger door closes like a rolls royce but drivers was a right PITA. I put new rubber seals around the frame and the only way to close the door on the latch was to have it sticking out by 1/2 inch. I ended up removing the tube of rubber from inside the seal at the bend in the frame and eventually got it to close. Last thing to do now is adjust the headlights ( still trying to find a way to do it for a LR from scratch) then its doe time.Well done Mick, that’s looking great and the sliders look awesome. So pleased to see that it’s all coming together - good effort my man! Even the doors look like they’re shutting flush!

If i cant get comercial tax on the 95, then the old black 110 will be next as its over thirty so 56 euro tax per year.Thoroughly enjoyed watching your rebuild, Mick. Crackin job, well done mate. Id say so. Mainly tin work. Pressure wash engine ,gearbox and axles, spray everything MF grey then put new wings on and spray all bodywork MF red. Job done. The only trouble, its been living off easy start so an engine rebuild might be on the cards. it has a cold start device in the inlet manifold maybe a new on of those works by turning the key backwards heats a coil and is fueld from the tankId say so. Mainly tin work.
