It has 5 connectors and a black round plug.

The 5 connectors go on the injectors and the round plug pushes up from a cut out in the head, when you put the new one in, I always just wipe a tiny bit of oil on the O ring just to help it in and prevent the o ring rolling. It just pushes in.

Then plug the loom back in.

The red plug goes to the ECU. Make sure you disconnect the battery. There's 2 Pozzi screws hold the ecu in, undo those and the whole ecu just slides up and out. Then unplug the red plug and give it a clean. (There may. It be any oil in there)

You need to check first.
 
Does it only "growl" when driving.

If you have the stick in N and hold at 2000rpm can you hear it then??
 
I had something similar, when driving try VERY carefully pulling the handbrake and see if the noise stays or goes.

I did shoes, retaining pins, cable and oil seal whilst I was in there....solved it.

DO NOT YANK THE HANDBRAKE OR PULL IT ALL THE WAY UP

i'll give it a try. i dont think its that but you never know...

tried the handbrake test this morning, didnt seem to make a difference but then only had a quick attempt due to traffic. it does make the noise in neutral though.
