was my first trip and thought it was brilliant , can't fault it in any way ,

would white boards put out in front of the marque help in the following manner

people wrote there names on there who wanted food in the evening , names to be put on there at a certain cut off time so it helped what numbers to cater for that evening

a help board, ie volunteers needed to do x

with regards to introducing everyone to each , could something like a excel spreadsheet be created, with there ticket number next to their screen name and real name, along with what there driving

everyone could then print this spreadsheet out , with the number displayed on there badge and car the spreadsheet would be a way of identifying everyone in site

or something of a similar nature with regards to the spreadsheet

of course it goes without question I'm happy to sit down and do a spread sheet if the idea was of any help to the organisers etc

just trying to throw ideas around

thks again to everyone who worked so hard , feel terribly bad as james and I should have come over and asked if we could have done anything, my sincere apologies ,

if a list is put up , as people arrive we can see what bits need doing and can muck in to sort them out and taking some strain off the organisers etc

just hope none of my comments have come across disrespectful in any way

Can genuinely say I don't mind if the location is changed...what I would say is that you need to have the manpower of volunteers to organise things in that particular location...no way could We have done what we did for an event 100 miles away, same goes for the others, so you'd need to scout out sites, arrange catering, sort out landing groups / other activities, find hotels etc from the members from that area......You need the infrastructure too if you're changing locations

totally agree with you on this, it would be interesting to see if anybody else would like to organise this event and make it a great success like everybody who was involved this year did, ;)

+1 wouldn't even know where to start if it was up north! Plus the amount of time it takes to organise...

Seems there is already a good relationship built with the owner of the site too which is invaluable for any mishaps that may occur or noise complaints etc... She was very chilled out!

The problem with feedback is that sometimes people take it personally.
This is only the second one and found that it's going to take a little time to break down a few barriers. I've always taken the meet to do just that, meet people. I found that the way I am in LZ was not always welcome face to face, so I retreated away a bit. It's to chill out, have a laugh, do landy things if you want, if not, then fine.
It's where other half can see why we spend so much time on the forum and get a little involved etc. A chance to do a little fund raising for a charity.
The location. Yep people may want a change after a while, but how many camp sites have you been on that lets you put the tent where you want, light a fire, have loud music and play ball games? Not many I can tell you. As for help. If LZ did find one, say more northern, I wouldn't mind helping at all but there's not much I can do up north when it's located a few hours away. I appreciate everything that they did.
I was shocked at the price of the toilets. I think they're having a laugh and for the size of the field two should be provided, but what can LZ do? If it's that expensive then one was enough and we managed.( though I think it was a ploy to get me to walk somewhere :) )

My only problem was the cold. I know some didn't suffer but we did. The freezing fog just about finished me off and wasn't pleasant at all. I wish it could be held in the summer months and then I wouldn't have to bring so much stuff for the nights. And even though I am fully aware of the costs involved in getting this event to work, it was quite pricey for us with the family now being all adults.
All in all, it was a great get together and I thank everyone that took time to organise it. I'm sure more people will help as the event moves on.

Aye, she was not too worried when I spoke to her (about the noise or the mess), she even enjoyed turning up on Saturday night!

Ok, feedback from me:

I thought the location was good, nice and flat and very pretty. They even weren't angry when I tried to lead my green laning group out of the entrance rather than the exit! Next year I am going to camp closer to the toilets though (but not too near). Saying that, if people want somewhere around here (Derbyshire) for the next one, I am happy to scout out some potential locations.

Curry was very good, though I was expecting the BBQ to be on Sat. Wasn't an unpleasant surprise for me though.

I think we should have some more permanent notices that are distributed beforehand, such as BBQ friday at 9, meet up at 10, laning at...etc. Probably a closed thread on here. Maybe we could also have a poll on here beforehand about whether people are taking their own food or not.

I know it is effort but a bit more of a formal introduction might have been nice, we kind of turned up and had no idea what to do. Or at least a time where everyone gets together and gets some information on the weekend.

I think we should also have some more formal rules on dogs. I love dogs, but there were some that kept coming over and weeing up all of our stuff which was unpleasant for all involved (inc Puzzle who got very upset!). I know that Puzzle isn't the best behaved of dogs, but we tried to keep our eye on him and tied him to a long lead when we couldn't.

But all in all it was a really good weekend, and I fully intend to come back next year :)

Changing llocations ....not sure that would work tbh your starting again from scratch... Stanford hall know LZ, what noise we are capable of, they can cater for us with space if numbers rise. They know the people organising, we had the run of the field and to my knowledge no one including the caravaners next door complained. It was a 2 1/2 hour journey for us which for some is not very far, when you work full time its all extra but WE CHOOSE to go, that should be everyone's view any further south the north loses out and visa versa.

If its not broke which it isn't then don't fix it.

:D

Weren't my dog ****ing on your stuff, he was on a lead or in the 90 or even curled up next to me in tent.

Also someones dog took a **** near marquee food area

Next year can we keep Les away from those bloody raffle tickets when I'm a bit ****ed with cash in me pocket. Bought loads and won bog all.

If the annual LZ meet is to become a slicker more pro event with full facilities etc, can we have some proper grass roots low cost camping in forests eat what you bring huddled under a tarp strung between landys get home soaked and stinking of bonfires type things too? Maybe even a winter one?

You clearly noticed our camp then? Didn't realise we were going to be trend setters.

Agree with fanatic... I love dogs myself but maybe food area barrier blocked off from rest of the goins on. People congregating round the food area is not ideal when not in use. Kitchen closes at whatever time that's it.. Kitchen stuff put away, food / cake put away covered up properly etc.

We need to talk about loom bands, that was very confusing for my little brain on sunday morning when i was given a demonstration...

Had the blood supply to my fingers cut off for a while, but my gifts of loom rings have been safely transferred to my car keyring :D

Right so puzzle was which dog? ... That way I can work who was who

I agree with James about the introductions. It would be nice if everyone was 'invited' to the beer tent at x-o'clock for a get together. Being a newbie this was my first event I wasn't sure if attendance numbers so I camped on the edge. Then realised so did everyone else. [emoji12].

Great venue, nice location, loads of room and even with the music going late it didn't seem too loud, brilliantly organised [emoji122][emoji122].

If I'd known the organisers needed a hand I would have jumped in. ( I did help bluebeasty pull out a beer tent leg [emoji14])
Please next year as I'm driving through the gate, tell me to come over- introduce myself and muck in. I much rather be told what to do than come over and annoy people by getting in the way.

More loos would have been good, I'm happy with less beach wood flooring and down lights and more practicality if that means we all get more loos for less money. If we struggled for sit down space I wonder how the woman managed. Not too bothered about showers. Wet wipes worked.

I didn't realise you guys were doing food until I'd already eaten and come over to buy beer. Please people spread the word. Signs, notices and a PA [emoji350]. I'm gutted I missed the curry it was amazing so I hear.

If anyone is up for the odd weekend event somewhere I'd like to tag along too. My friends and I use to pop to Sibbertoft for a Saturday night camping and Sunday PnP. Although I'm in Derby/Notts now it's only a few hours down the road using Buddy.

Driffield isn't too far oop norf either.

Oooo I'm quite lucky really I'm in the middle. [emoji12]

Fantastic event guys. Thank you so much for organising it. Trust me I know how difficult it is. Who knows by LZ15 we'll need to book 2 fields
