From being quite ambivalent towards the L322 (much preferring the look of the P38) I quite like the L405.
From disliking the heavy arse ended L322, much preferring the P38, I too like the look of the L405:)
If they did a base model without the sunroof, massage seats and all the other unnecessary gubbins, I might even be interested when I win the Euromillions:D

Don't like glass sunroofs or hemorrhoid cultivator heated seats. Ever seen what happens to a glass sunroof in a crash? If you are unlucky enough to end up on the roof there is enough slack in most seat belts to allow the top of your head to be ground off on the road:eek:

I have changed a glass roof in an evoque right PITA, Also I have driven the new 405, a TDV8 and was very impressed it is much lighter than a 322 and feels it, A class act.

400Kgs lighter than the L322 making it pretty much the same weight as a P38, so not a lightweight.:)
 
The mrs and I both work at JLR and we were lucky enough to have a L405 for a day a while ago. I already loved the look of it inside and out, but taking it on mixed roads for the day from where we live out through the Cotswolds, we got to really appreciate how great it is to drive.
I had driven my classic and my Dads P38 in the morning and the 405 felt so much more agile. The TDV6 pulled really well and if you felt the need to use the paddle shifts and chuck it about a bit, it felt like the sport. It didn't feel as big as it is round town either and is a piece of cake to park with all of the sensors and cameras on it if you feel like using them.

I know people will say they'll only break in a few years, but the gadgets on them are great. I particularly like the powered tailgates and the buttons inside the boot that control the back seats so that you can fold them down when loading something long without walking round and opening the doors to do it manually :)
 
They're not designed to last 20 years as they want people to keep upgrading to newer models!

My classic definitely wasn't or I wouldn't have to fix it every flamin week :)
 
Got my phone call today, to go test drive the L405 at the weekend. Might go just for the heck of it, they might have coffee on the go. :D
 
My dads also had the invite, main dealer is less than 1 mile away and he still wasn't interested!! Was tempted to go in his place :)
