hey every one
so I have the dreaded 3 amigo's plus the handbreak light is always on .I have been reading up on the ads sensors replace and break light replacement before i go spending money and time. Could it be my breaks need replacing ? the rears ones have just started to squeak i have a 2002 freelander just done over 150000 i dont no when the rear breaks where last changed
any advice would be great ... also i have an mot in three weeks are these warning lights a fail ?

Best bet is to get fault codes read so you can determine exactly what's wrong with the car.

If you're in Cheltenham then I can pull codes for you - I'm in Tewkesbury

i got it booked in at my friends gauge for Thursday lucky hes breaking a freelander atm so he thinks he can pull the parts i need off it thanks for the offer tho :)

No worries offer stands in case it's not sorted Thursday

Just be aware that the ABS changed at 2001MY (1Axxxxxx at end of VIN) and again at 2002MY (2Axxxxxx) so the parts may not be compatible

Interested to find out what this is. I can't help with the fault but I had the 3 amigos plus handbrake LEDs torn from my instruments by the shaved ape who owned it before.

Had the error codes checked and all that was there was one of the rear abs sensors (historical). Can't see why that would necesitate gouging out the handbrake led so a little confused too.

Good luck getting yours sorted.

Handbrake light is also the brake fluid low level light..... Somtimes the level float in the reservoir doesn't float any more.......

This one is a bit of a wildcard, but try swapping the battery.
Mine had been standing a week and showed the same symptoms, changed the battery for a spare I had and everything went away. Only thing I can think if is that a cell had thrown a wobbly and whilst it gave enough power to start it messed with all the electrics

break level is all good had all fluid changed a few months ago i didnt think of the battery sounds strange but i think its the original one in there still had a look at it today its been in there for quiet some time to say the lest but it goes in tomorrow afternoon to get looked at and hopefully fixed i am dreading the bill but its got to be done

The fluid may be a good level but the switch can fail..........

Unplug it and see what happens.

i just changed the battery over no luck i have cleaned all the contacts as they were honking and now the one of the window regulators has just gone....always in threes i just wounder whats next

No, the wires that go into the brake fluid reservoir.......

Also check the HDC switch wiring isn't broken. If all this is a bit much for you, find a hippo friendly garage.

The abs sensor won't put on the handbrake light...........

Have you unplugged the brake fluid level sensor yet?
