Hi All, I've only owned my 98 Discovery for 5 weeks now. I have no idea why I bought it, discovery's had never really appealed to me, but certainly couldn't afford a defender... it just sort of happened on ebay when I was looking for my first 4x4.
I traveled a couple of hundred miles to pick it up. Got there and was greeted with a ton of aluminium corrosion and thought maybe I'd bought yet another lemon of a car.
Spent the first 2 weeks not liking it, but I'm a bit of a country boy trapped on a council estate, and once I realised I could escape this rough ass dump whenever I wanted with my dogs and go where many others couldn't, I started to fall in love with the old girl, even though it looks like she's covered in acne.
Can't thank this forum enough for putting my mind at rest knowing there is an answer to all of my questions. Helped so much already in such a short space of time!

As long as she's mechanically sound and doesn't leak (....much...) then all is good: Not all Land Rovers are shiny
