You can always just engage then try and drive in a tight circle on tarmac, if it judders and wiggles then its in 4wd!
easiest way is to jack one front wheel up ,if it turns theres no drive ,if it doesnt you have 4wd
Simples, I will give a go when I get in. In 4wd, no spin, in 2WD front should spin on its merry way!
Cheers all.
Adie
Is there such a thing as a tight circle in one of these? lol
Morning all
This might seem a stupid question, but how do I check if 4 wheel drive is actually working when the yellow selector is down?
Completely new to land rovers (as you may have guessed!)
Cheers
You could go somewhere muddy in 2 wheel drive and and if you get stuck when you select 4wd it's not working.
they will spin if 2 front wheels are up ,but if it spins with one up see if front prop rotates as you turn wheel if it does 4wd isnt engaged, if it doesnt turn your f/w hubs arent locking
if prop isnt turning with a wheel up and turning then your f/w hubs arent locking
