Hi,
After fitting a new engine and gearbox two / three weeks ago. the car has developed a misfire when cold and idling. I can rev the engine through the problem range (less than 1800rpm) and drive the car ok... although a bit flat.
I have 2 or 3 spare injectors and could do with seeing which one (s) are showing as suspect.
although... if the person is willing to hang around while i bang another injector in and re-test - that would be great.
I'm located literally 6mins from Jun 28 of the M1.
If anyone can assist I would be grateful.. the kettle here works, and the coffee isn't the cheap stuff either...
Thanks in advance guys...
unless someone knows the address to scan each injector with.... my VCDS seems to be able to communicate with the freebie in one way or another....
Cheers.
Wayne.

To add... Yes... TD4 - I used the original freelander injectors from the previous engine, because the engine I used was from a Rover CDTi.
Ironically... i also had a spare (partial) set of injectors in the boot of the car - so I plan on using one or two of these to remedy the problem.
In the meantime... I will soak the spares in diesel until I get the testbook on the car.

I can't help with T4 but a thread of those around the country that have T4 that are willing to provide diagnostic, settings changes would be most useful.

There's a T4 owner's list available on the 75/ZT OC, don't know whether they can/willing to provide a service for the Freelanders? Believe the cables are different? I'll ask and get back; nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.

Unless other know different of course?

Different cables...... I'm not discounting they are... but I would be surprised... especially as I get a reading from my VAG Rosstech VCDS cable and software.
Yes.. a register would be good.... although.. I'm trying to get old of the data CD for the freelander to carry out some "research"

cheers...
I will take a look and see if there are any victims.. sorry... friendly people in my are willing to try.

OK.... anyone with another Diagnostic tool what can do the job in Nottinghamshire please????
Kettle is ALWAYS on!! - lol

I think one of the guys travels the country, he may be willing/able to help. To save you joining I'll ask him shall I?

wow... do you know "of such oracles??" - (in a "Percy" from Black Adder II kind of Tone)
If he is passing by the M1 Junc 28 on his travels (basically NOT to make a special run to see me) - that would be great!
I will P.M. you my mobile no. if he is passing sometime over the next two weeks. Cheers.

That's a very helpful idea.
I wouldn't think the cables are different. Having said that, I know T4 comes with many different cables, so it's possible they are different.
I could do with someone with T4 down this way that can do a couple of bits on my SE. When I spoke to my local LR dealer, they were far from interested in providing help with what I wanted to do. :(

I ended up getting the same unhelpful response from the main stealers too

I have T4 setup and the cables are different between R75 (red) and Freelander (blue and grey)

Legacy reason for it during the development of Testbook through the ages and the cars!
I'm in Tewkesbury Gloucestershire J9 M5 if anyone needs a diagnostic session

Handy to know td4van, thanks.
I'm planning on fitting the US spec external temperature sensor, which needs activating with T4. My local LR dealer said it's not possible to do, but that's not the case as other's have done it.

It is Phil T4 that will travel, T4 is how he makes is living he also carries out the work needed if any to the car, I doubt he will do any work for a cup of coffee etc, one of the main men is now missing from the list which was marinabrian, the leads are different for the T4 ie colour coded Red is for R40 MGZT, Grey would be the colour for the Freelander,

Had a reply from Phil and he can do the Freelanders as well.

In the process of asking him if he can help folks, will let people know.
