Power steering noise, rear diff noise, check all cylinders are in line (it's not a V6!)

Check windows, tailgate latch etc all work as well as audio system etc

I have just bought one after being very impressed on the test drive, the performance is fantastic for the type of car. We have p/x'd a freelander td4 against it and clearly the difference is night and day. I am picking it up this afternoon, so will take it for a good long run and get back to you. Make sure you check all the kit, there's loads on this model, make sure the memory seats do the job and the stereo and sat nav work as they should. I expect the running cost to be a bit on the high side, tax is 500 a year and they are thirsty cars, but if it gets me out of a diesel, so be it.

Just got back with the car. I am very impressed with the way it goes! Motorway driving is effortless and getting up to 80+ mph was way too easy. The engine is a straight six Volvo unit, so I wouldn't worry about that, it's the things like noises from the diff and all the electrics etc, there's a lot to check on these. We tried everything, even made sure the power fold mirrors closed when the car is locked. Spend a good 20 mins on the test drive and then the same again playing with the toys and make sure you check front and rear parking sensors, we looked at quite a few Landrovers before going for this and most of them had dodgy parking sensors.
