I've been away from the forum for a couple of years (small child and no garage time) but I want to finish of my 109 project. One of the big sticking points has been the bulkhead - I've made a start on welding up an old one but its a bit of a Frankenstein's cock and I'm not enjoying it so I'm thinking of getting a galv bulkhead.

Has anyone tried a TerrainTech one - they look ok but do they actually fit?

Thanks both,

I think I'll give them a go. I've thought about getting somebody else to weld it but there would still be the issue of making it fit (there's a lot needs doing) and then the fact that it wouldn't be galved.

don't know about terrain tech, hadn't heard of them but they do look good.

classic bulkheads do series bulkheads (refurbished and galvanised), bought bits off them and they seem ok but have heard stories of long waits where people have sent them their own bulkhead for refurbishment.

I used them for mine when it needed repairing. It was very good level of finish and fitted no problem. They do have a very long wait time though, took about 9 months to get it back. I had done my research on this however and bought a second bulkhead which I gave them to repair so I did not need to dismantle mine until I have the galvanised bulkhead back allowing me to keep using it while waiting.

Saw a terrain tech bulkhead the weekend.
This is a S2. Modified for a 2B so no steering Column hole(full panel welded in)
Galv looked neat. Joints sealed no sharp pointy Galv bits.
There were a few small swirls where a flap wheel had been used under the galv but this will cover with paint.
Arrived on a pallet stood up and well braced.
