if they sprayed the radiator with cold water that can cool it down, but i noticed that on my mates td5 when we picked it up from ireland. driving it back over nite to the ferry it was fine but when we got to the docks (it was freezing cold wheather) we parked up and tried to get some kip left the engine running and it kept cooling rite down that the heaters were blowing cold air out but if we went round the docks a few times giving it abit it warmed back up again. wierd eh but that was 2 years ago and its still going good with no problems. i would say its fine but obviously if it goes the other way then get it looked at

Is the fuel pump noisey on yer landy when you first go to start it? The problems starting could be down to low fuel pressure or it could be knackered glow plugs. TD5's don't maintain their engine temp to well on tickover in cold weather so it sounds normal. especially as it was just soaked in water too.

the gaga is back in the centre and is fine now, just hope it starts ok in the morning only from the other day when the snow came, it had the problem of not starting, before that it started like lion 1st time everytime with no funny noises, could it be the glow plugs

mine did the same when i was skiing last year. The Fan continuosly blasts cold air through, so if the heater is on, and the air temp is cold, the engine will cool down.

No Worries :)
