A weird scenario......'Digby' even though a male name, seems to have traits of a female as she is temperamental!!!!!

The temperature gauge seems to go only up to 1/4 for ages (1hour) then occasionaly she will go to normal 1/2 then again after running at normal for 10 mins she wil then decide to go back down to 1/4.

Any ideas, I do not want her running cold and causing damage

Well.

As I was determined to get this fixed - I went to my local Landy delaer, and bought myself a Temp Sender Sensor - replaced it and No Luck!.....Damn - So i thought to myself...OK....Its got to be the Thermostat - so drove back there and bought a Thermostat - 'Weird looking thing' its in its own housing and looks like a heart with 3 connectors - Anyway.................Crawled under undid all the hoses and took it out.....and to my surprise the existing unit did NOT have a Thermostat in its housing - hence why the temp stayed cool, and dropped in high speed.

Cut this little novel short - replaced it, filled it up with NEW coolant 5Ltrs of the orignal stuff, and hey presto - works like a dream.

Well chuffed with myself - and thanks to JAMES in the forum for the guidance
