Hi,

Posted on this b4, but worried that i might do some damage :(

Temp gauge on my S3 steadilly rises from off to straight to the top of the red after about 10mins driving.

Any ideas, as engine itself doesnt feel hot, no boiling or steam.

Anyway of checking the pipes to see if thermostat is jammed? when i last checked all the pipes from top to bottom were warm after 10mins.

Hi i had much the same problem, my temperature gauge would go from cold to hot almost straight away, turns out the voltage stabiliser was knackered. Once changed everything was fine. The stabiliser is behind the speedo. Hope this helps.

ok, thank you greatly for your help! have been wondering what to do about it. Will get another voltage stabilser soon.

Or buy a lekytronik one on Fleabay. I got one for about £8, you can buy the components parts cheaper, but who cares.

The standard Landy part is just a simple bi-metal strip & I found mine didn't like being thrown around & bounced about off road, my guages would be on, off, half on, all over the shop. These lecky ones seem a lot more resilient & consistent.
