Isn't that fuel heater just part of the winter protection kit along the heated washers?
Could be I’m not sure. I have seen couple of people have issues seemed like plugs but they’d put new ones in all working, replaced fuel heater part fixed it.
misread the post ^^^ I did - says fuel temp 91

Ok. Thanks.
Never thought about water separation chamber.
Airfilter is 3 month old.
Not changed the fuel filter.
It was my horror something could get wrong by it. Lol

That unplug idea - I understand it.
Worth a try I guess.
Even new can be faulty.lol

Don't go gung-ho tightening the new fuel filter as the housing cracks easily.

Intermittent is a PITA. Could be a wire or connector somewhere. Or #4 / CPS on its way out. Time will tell.

Isn't there a temp sensor in the FIP? If replacing the fuel heater part of the fuel filter I would assume there was a problem with either a cracked housing or a bad seal allowing air to get into the system.

I tend to agree after looking at the photos posted it even shows an intermittent fault. I would be having a look at the round connector for the wiring from the FIP. I have seen a fuel temp sensor that's in the pump mentioned so unless that gone faulty then it's down to a bad connection or a wiring fault or #4 inj.Time to get the inlet manifold off and check the wiring loom.

I've never really been sure that fuel temperature affects much. I guess it must otherwise why collect the data.

Yes it dos

I had internitted harsh idling before , by driving or just let it run.
It was bad.
Now is sometimes but very slight.
( About 100 plus / minus for a couple seconds then back to normal )
Cold start is only on the dot when I let the plugs preglow twice, otherwise it takes a couple turns.
Hot start can be 5 to 10 engine turns sometimes.
Fib dosnt show any readings outside the norm and no other fault codes coming up.
Taking the new glowplugs out tomorrow and bench check them in case they not working properly.
Lots of cheap Ebay glow plugs are NBG.

Right. Thanks for all the advice.
We taken the inlet manifold back off. Unplug the renewed green sensor ( pic below )
Taken al glowpulgs out, bench checked them, and they all seem to be good.
No diesel leaks.
A.mate did one of them dye checks for vacuum leak I believe. Negative, no leaks.
Checked the fib as much as we could. seems no issue. Nanocom dosnt give any indication whatsoever for it.

( unless.i can leave the nanocom on and start the car for idle and rev reading. - not done this before )

Opened the joints and diesel flows with pressure.
Still has issues by starting.

One thing i noted, we had it running for 1 hour, turned ot off, started it again and it taken hall of a long time with the result of a smoke cloud when it actually fired.

But no ruff running or idling.
Checked with nanocom again and had again temp sensor fault.

The only thing we didn't do was the other sensor which I believe is the ecu signal one.
I dont have one to exchange yet.

So trying to order one, but bearmarch seems.only supplying this green on ( pictures) which already is new.

I have found a supplier in loverpool but he need / want the part number which which need to find again.
( think it was posted somewhere here. ).

How do I do that?
Please.
Still learning on how to use the nanocom without breaking anything.

And where do I find that in the settings?

In engine ECU live data, must have the engine running. I can't tell you more as I don't have a Nanocom.

Ok.
That will do. Never had the engine run while nanocom was connected in case it shouldn't.
I give it a go and see what it tells.me.
Thanks

I seam to remember Wammers saying dont start the car with nanocom connected, so i would assume you start motor then connect, i do stand to be corrected if wrong:D
