Hi guys. Been trolling teh intrenet and I'm having a bit of difficulty finding valve spring height data for the 2.5 diesel bmw m51 as fitted to the rr p38. Land rover service manual doesnt have it. Im in the middle of rebuilding my new/old head and I want to check the springs. Any ideas what the minimum height is on these?

Cheers

Not a landrover but I have one in my E34 - they specified a coil distance separation I think which seemed an odd way of doing it...

well that is a way of measuring the 'springyness' left in it. I have worked on BMW's before and they do like measuring distances between things such as the distance between two links in the timing chain for acceptable stretch. Do you have those specs to hand? Wouldn't be different between a BMW or a RR as the engine specs are the same.Come to think of it...if you have the timing chain measurement as well for your E34 that would be awesome!

A little late, but maybe this bit of info that I found will make a good read.
