It is going to be a can protocol that Ford uses I assume as it is a drivetrain system from Ford.

I found this about Transits that also use the 2.4 duratorq engine:

'Up to 2003 model year , protocol J1850 PWM was used but from 2004 Model year Ford moved to ISO 14230 CAN communication however this was a rolling changeover.'

Cannot say which one it is but different number of pins are connected on the OBD and determine which protocol is used on the Transit. (assuming the TDCI uses Ford systems)

Hope this gives you a lead.

Hi the only thing that i can find is about the obd connections.
What i am trying to do is get a temp gauge to work on a tdci thats useing a td5 engine from the looks of things the temp gauge rev counter mil glow plug light charge light and oil light all uses CAN signals to work i am looking for some sort of converter to convert the analoue signals from the td5 engine to the CAN signals to the tdci dash.
