-Dynamically balanced crank assay
-Balanced connecting rods - weight removed from side of rods
-Balanced pistons - Weight removed from wrist pins
-Polished crank
-Glazed busted and honed block
-Cylinder block skimmed
-Oil pump re-furbished and modified for increased flow
-Engine block painted
-New AMC head port matched and exhaust porsts polished
-Inlet manifold Port matched and alighned
-CDRC 17-4Ph stainless head studs

-Allisport exhaust manifold
-Allisport Intercooler and Radiator
-Allisport Silicon hoses

-CRturbos VNT Race Spec with costum wastegate actuator

-td5INSIDE Race Spec ECU
-td5INSIDE uprated sensors

Eventually some different injector nozzles in a future not so far away

If they are fitting the injector nozzles I'm thinking of this could be well over 250bhp and 600nm. Running a Quaife sequential 6 speed box.

The big question is How much? I bet it is a pretty penny. But a useful exercise for a tuning company to go through.

What is the max Power and Torque a road going TD5 has been known to achieve reliably?

Cheers

Should have been more clear! lol they arnt building it themselves just supplying parts and information to AJS Race Team (Brits I think)

Not sure but I think about 220bhp and 550nm is about the most anyone has squeezed out of one.

In jest - I do hope their machining and assembly skills are better than their spelling and grammar. end jest:rolleyes::mad:

Seriously - interesting project - I would have thought the TD5 was more than capable of 250HP. 220 seems to a figure which is common knowledge for "simple" re-maps. Though, given the alloy head - I suspect the limit will be EGT - I would hope that they have a way of limiting this through the ECU - I fear it might get messy otherwise

("Simple" is not really the word to use to describe a re-map - but in context, a re-map is a tad easier than all the stuff TD5Alive are on with :D)

Considering its written by a Portuguese fella its not bad! hahaha

My understanding is 220bhp seems to be the sensible limit, after that theres tonnes of smoke and other engine upgrades required such as a race head, ported and polished bits uprated studs etc... For an extra say 20 - 40bhp youre looking to spend another £3k+

The sheer heat flux going through that thing.... coolant alarm would be next on my list ;)

Stock injectors will spray over 100mg of fuel... that's good for a theoretical 310BHP - obviously other things come into play though.

I asked em if they know the torque ratings for the uprated studs for you. No reply yet :)

Interesting! I wouldnt have though they could manage that, hence why they are looking at uprated injector nozzles!

Apparently its looking to be around 700nm+:eek:

I'm not sure they'll know the torque ratings, I think that Chesterfield race engines put it together for them but as previously stated the main chap there has passed away.

Interesting build though for sure.

True, though the engines been stripped and rebuilt since then, so I would guess they would know the rating!

They asked for the thread/length of the studs?
