HI all, had a problem with my fuel pump so changed it along with the fuel pressure regulator and now the bloody thing won't start. I'ts just turning over and not even trying to fire up!! Any suggestions???

Possibly out of time with your timing belt one tooth out and it will just turn and turn like an immobiliser stopping the engine from starting. fitted a cam belt on a 300tdi we were one tooth out and it just turned over and over, minor adjustment 5 min later turned over in seconds

goood luck

Hi,is the pump buzzing when u turn the ignition on?.Its possible that u have air in the fuel system that requires bleeding out.Think that u have to fully depress accelerator pedel, hold it down and turn on ignition, wait for 30secs and then crank engine over.Hand book has more info on this-but advises if engine floods than damage can occur.

Td5 hasnt got a timing belt:)

You need to prime the whole system. Turn the ignition on so you should hear the fuel pump running, this will stop after a few seconds. turn your ignition off again, then on again and wait for the buzzing to stop, turn off. If you carry on doing this for about 10 goes it should prime the system and be ready to go!
hope you get going soon!

Easier than that .......

turn on IGN (do NOT turn it off from now on.)
hear pump running at the back.
when pump stops, press throttle pedal to the floor and up FIVE or SIX times.
the pump will start running again.
do this a few times..

now turn IGN to STARTER POSITION, and KEEP IT TURNING ..... it may need 30 seconds or more on the starter .... after say 10 - 12 seconds with the starter still running press the throttle to the floor and let it up (this helps to prime the crazy injectors) and it will soon start to "catch" ... but keep on the starter until it is firing properly.

Eyop CharlesY !

where you bin hiding ??;)

I been busy busy ... but lurking here too ..... and the man got his TD5 running.

It needs a new fuel filter bloody quick .... dirty TD5 fuel filter causes NOISY PUMP.

Clean TD5 fuel filter causes quiet pump.

It does in mine anyway.
