I appreciate it's been asked many times before but basically I'm at a loss on what to do at this point.
My mates disco will not start & we have changed the following while trying to diagnose and don't know what to do next other maybe plug a nanocom in but I can't find one to buy, and my mates losing the plot & wants to scrap it now.
We have changed
Fuel pump (in tank)
Injector seals
Crank sensor
No oil in ecu
Any help appreciated thanks.
He thinks it's ecu related as it will run on easy start but as soon as you stop spraying it cuts out (which to me is a fuel or electric problem). There was a 30a fuse blown but I replaced that.
If it is ecu related & I plug my ecu in will it at least start the vehicle?

1. Is it manual or auto?
2. You can't start it with your ECU without a nanocom or similar to make it learn the security code

Manual, and I thought I would check as I was told it would start it in some default mode where it assumes loads of values and is basically undriveable, but it would tell me if it's a bad ecu.

Have you tried with jump leads on? If the battery is dropping voltage when cranking then the injectors will not fire.
Bump start is also worth trying if you have the space as I believe the starter motor can give a problem with some kind of electrical interference

Yeah had it cranking for ages on jump leads and towed it round the block.

Firts of all read fault codes from engine ECU
Read the fault codes and there weren't any, checked crank speed, battery voltage etc. Immobiliser was already disabled.
Looks like it will be going to scrapyard once he's parted it out, all we can come up with is a faulty ecu and at the cost of buying one he may aswell part his one out and buy a running disco.

Crank speed is 252 and that's with any of the 3 genuine crank sensors I have, I know they like it to be 300 but that's shouldn't matter when I'm towing it a few miles trying to start it.
I can do the injector test but wasn't sure if I needed to remove to rocker cover to hear them of if it should be audible through it.

You should hear them click as they are when you "fire" them with nanocom. You can fit your ECU for test(if it's manual as well) all you must to is to make it learn the security code in the engine ECU utility menu then re-learn it when you refit it to your's... can you hear the pump running when you turn ignition on? any diesel smell at the exhaust while cranking?

Changed that and can confirm fuel is entering & leaving it.
I had a dodgy new fuel pump before. I changed that & fpr etc & even opened it up & spun it over to see loads of fuel ****ing out & was getting correct voltage at pump etc. Turns out that fuel was only coming out at 2.5 bar & not the 4 bar needed.
