I won't be bump starting it..
So we are heading in the starter/crank direction. Even with some combustible spray in the air intake, it still never tried to fire. So we are looking deeper into the mystical td5 engine..
If the fuel is there, the starter is turning over like Billy oh, we might have a cranking issue? I'm going to order a start and see where we go from that I think..

OK so here's the latest..
I swapped the relays, still no joy. All plugs are connected. Re checked the injectors gap was set correctly, battery charged and voltage OK.
I'm still waiting on a starter motor.
But this evening I filled the tank to half way and purged the system. It's been purged probably 6 or 8 times now over the last week. Still nothing, I removed the quick release hose from the FPR and there's only a trickle of fuel, not even close to 4 bar. I then released the quick release hose from the fuel cooler and diesel is ****ing out of the hose??!
From the rave diagram the cooler feed hose is the return from the cylinders?!
Any one have a clue what's going on here?

Good idea.. anyone who reads this who is in Doncaster area with a tester. Give me a message, don't mind paying at all.

Does it sound like the cylinders could be flooded at the min?

Issue is almost fixed now...
if you undo the switch or bung on bottom of filter does fuel pour out in a steady stream
I defiantly got the wrong idea of this. The only stream coming out of the bung was the filter loosing the diesel it had in there, I didn't leave the bung off long enough.
Despite me hearing the fuel pump running, it wasn't pumping anything.

Untill then rule out the main relay too just to have peace of mind... swap relays R9(main) with R8(heated screen) for test, also are you sure that the crank sensor is good? ... better get cheap new starter than used one IMO

Well worth the try, the relays were good. Had the car put on 'autologic' diagnostics, no crank sensor fault either.

The diagnostics showed 'open circuit' on injectors 2,4 and 5 + low reading from the MAF. Injectors were cleared and test fired.
The car still didn't start. So we removed the feed to the FPR again, this time there was a tiny drip of fuel coming out as apposed to last time when there was a little more (not 4 bar in anycase)

So I've ordered a new fuel pump and hopefully this should be the fix.

Serves me right for never having more than half a tank of juice in there!!

The crank sensor will not throw a fault code if it delivers a close to normal signal just that the ECU can be very sensitive on this that's why i said to read the crank signal(engine speed) while cranking cos if it's below 300 it won't fire whatsoever but if it's let's say 280 it will not throw a fault code ... those injector open circuit codes are common for injector loom failure, i dont want to read the whole thread from the beginning did you check the red plug and the upper injector plug for oil?

Yes checked the ecu red plug and the loom top plug has had a good spray out numerous times while the car has been off the road.
Well non the less I definitely need a fuel pump. Hope fully this fixes it and if not it's back on the diagnostics to read crank speed Sierra. And Thankyou for all your advice

Fixed! Fuel pump was the problem. There's a massive difference in the sound level between the old on and the new one when running.

Thanks
