What issues ?

I have removed the original internal fuel pump and Tank and I am using a freelander inline fuel pump which has two wires on it, I need to know what wires are for what in the fuel pump connector ie the guage wire to wire up to my dip type sender and so on :)

And I will be attempted for the second time to download rave tonight :)

Wiring for the TD5 fuel pump/sender unit, is as follows -

White/Purple - Fuel pump live, from fuel pump relay

Black - Fuel pump earth

Pink/Black - Fuel gauge sender to/from instrument pack

Green/Black - Fuel gauge sender to/from instrument pack

Where are you attempting to download RAVE from?

As, one of the commonly shared links is for the NAS (North American Spec.) vehicles, and only covers V8 vehicles.

Also, NAS vehicles had quite a few wiring differences to UK vehicles.

.

Sorry i took a while to reply, when i got in i did a bit of soldering :)
Yes i tried the us version last night but failed to download.

Just had a look through and found this web sit
( land rover rave technical system )

I think it was quoted by youself :D, Am in the download stage at the min.
I will post some pictures of the loom once complete, to show where all your help went.

Yep, that's the one (Rave01.iso)

The NAS version of RAVE is interesting to look through (I'm quite sad ) but, the wiring diagrams and electrical library are not a lot of use on UK TD5 vehicles (or UK V8 vehicles, come to that!), as the differences in specifications, are just too great.

will that green with orange trace wire be 12v powered all the while, ie ignition feed ?,
I am thinking about using it for the sender constant 12v feed :)

The Light Green/Orange trace wire is switched through the 'auxiliary circuits relay' (in the under-bonnet fuse box) by the ignition switch, only when the ignition switch is in Position II.

That should be ok for what i need to do then :).
I am browsing through rave now, it's great:D

As well as the Circuit Diagrams in RAVE, the Electrical Library gives a brief description of each circuit and has a page for each connector, showing its location and the wire colours in each cavity.

Remember, that the diagram of each connector is of its 'face', i.e. - the front, rather than its cable-entry side.

For a more detailed description of each circuit, as well as the programmable functions in the BCU, have a look at -

'Technical Brochure' -> 'Discovery Series II - Body Electrics'

Have been looking through, and i cannot seem to find out what i am looking for.
Does the electronic fuel flap alter the alarm system in any way, i want to remove it completely ?

well i am looking through rave at the minute, and i am trying to find out if the fuel filler electric release switch, talk with the alarm system.
Ie if vehicle alarmed and that opens does it set the alarm ?

Found it, is shows here it has something to do with the alarm lol, but i dont know how and what

you'll find out in time where to look...if the diagram doesnt help see Electrical library - Description and operation , or workshop manual... i realised these things just after i've read it from all
Anti-Theft Alarm Operation

Fuel flap release switch
A feed from fuse 2 in the passenger compartment fusebox is connected on a
PS wire to the fuel flap release switch. When the switch is operated and the
alarm is not armed, the feed passes from the switch and is connected on a PR
wire to the fuel flap release solenoid.
The feed energises the solenoid, retracting the plunger and opening the fuel
flap. The fuel flap release solenoid is connected on an RU wire to pin C0664-3
on the BCU. The BCU completes the earth path from the solenoid only if the
alarm is not armed.
so if you want to remove the solenoid you can without disturbing the alarm, the only connection is that it doesnt open if the alarm is armed

I had scanned past it ha ha, only after looking at the one you showed me and going into those headings at the top.
It is always good to have someone tell you that you can do it :) (even there sometimes wrong, a second opinion is better:D)

Thanks for that

Another quick question, does anyone know where i can buy the female connector for this fuel pump?
Bosch Fuel Pump Land Rover FREELANDER 2.0 Td4 [1998-2006] | eBay

It looks like this picture i have added on the end, and i have looked through my rave but only to find that connector. Not sure if that the the correct one though and where to buy it from ?
