Hi Guys,

I have a question for the guru's in this department. I understand that at high load, the ECU will ask for a maximum pressure of 1.2bar.

The question is this, I understand that it takes time for systems to react etc, but has anyone else noticed that when you put full throttle down, the boost pressure jumps to 1.4bar, seems to hold it there for a small duration and then drops back to 1.2bar (whilst still under full acceleration).

I'm trying to figure out if there is an issue with my wastegate modulator, turbo actuator length or if this is normal operation. Does anyone know if the ECU requests overboost for a short duration?

I know that control loops take time to respond, but this seems a bit longer than expected, but never goes above 1.4bar and doesn't go into "Limp/Kangaroo Mode"

I'm getting this information directly from a boost gauge and nanocom.

Thanks,
Simon

Hi, the standard overboost limit is at 1.42bar, and the boost should go to 1.3 also it's normal that the boost to be higher immediately on kick down cos the torque request is higher too untill the vehicle is reaching the desired speed and the ECU's addaptive strategy adjusts the fuelling for optimal driveability... no worries, IMO your's is working OK
