The viscous coupling has siezed on my TD5. I have the correct spanner to remove the locking nut but it will not budge. I know it is a reverse thread. Anyone any suggestions?

Cheers

gorra feelin that TD5 aint a reverse thread.
ave yer tried it t'uvva way?

The TD5 viscous fan coupling is NOT a reverse thread it is normal.
Standing in front of the engine give the spanner a good whack anti-clockwise and it should loosen. Be brave as it may be reluctant to budge but a few good wallops should do the trick.
Put some copper grease on the threads when you put it back so you dont have the same trouble later.
I took mine off today so I know what I'm talking about.
Probably the only thing I do know but hey ho!

Hope this helps.

wtf would you want to put it back fo, they are a useless piece of ****, if you want a fan, fit a kenlowe

Thats the plan.

The fan siezed so that it was running at the same speed as the engine all the time and its costing me 20% more on fuel so what will I save by removing it completely!!
