Hey guys.

I have been looking into running my 52 plate td5 defender on veg oil. Like 50/50 mix. But I have done some research and some people have been saying u can't do it with a td5 and some say you can. And I am getting confused.

So I am asking has anyone done it? And has it caused any problems?

Thanks

Not to sure about running just 50/50 on Td5 done it on a 300tdi
i used to run a twin tank set up the main thing you need to do and this applies to most vehicles is make sure the veg is nice and warm to thin it down, best of looking on some of the veg oil forums, as i know some people on there run new motors eg VW Audi mostly german with out any problems.
one problem that a lot of people incur is the veg oil eat seals in the FIP.

I'm not saying use it but....
We've tried it for a good few tanks 50/50 and it was fine it blocked the filter with black scum from the tank twice but that eventually went but ran absolutely fine apart from 0 degrees and struggled to start abit.
Basically it's a chance you take and the risk is up to you if you run it or not
It's back on diesel at the mo due to no oil but runs no different

From what I've read over the years if I wanted to know anything on this subject then I'd be PMing SHIFTY..;);)

Plenty of peeps are running TD5s on veg or bio. I dont because it costs money and I get all the used engine oil I need for free.
