Alright guys
got a 2005 90 td5 and unlike everyother td5 ive had the turbo whistles like mad (and sounds v good), it's the original garrett turbo. I'm not really complaining and it now goes like sh!t off a shovel, but just wondering if air might be getting in somewhere which would cause it to whistle more than usual? or if by using it might be damaging it? cheers

Some do whistle more than others, if it goes well then there's nothing wrong!!!

If there was an air leak it would be down on power and make a loud hissing noise. Check all your turbo pipes for splits just to be sure.

Mine whistles like a crazy thing too - brought it back years ago and was told the same.

Sounds even better if you open the nearside vent. Like a HumVee.

for all you know, it's your air box which is not shut properly. When you drive the engin hard, it needs more air, so it sucks in more air.

some idiot didn't close mine properly and i suddenly had a very interesting whistling sound which i thought was the turbo and 4 days later, i decided to check and my assumption was rite, the box wasn't shut properly.
