What is the max turbo boost for a Td5 defender, just replaced the boost actuator ( duff diaphragm), need to set it

Standard boost is 14psi. Max boost before overboost in sensed is about 18 - 19psi.

Mine is chipped to 150+ BHP allisport intercooler with boost unit fitted to ECU I think it ran around 20 ish before but unsure as I cannot remember

Ahhh in that case about 20 - 22psi should be safe.
