I am thinking of getting a galvanised chassis and there is an option for td5 fuel tank mounts is it possible to use this with a carb v8?
Cheers steve

No reason why you can't.

Dad's 90 is a 3.9 v8 using a TD5 tank.

You will need to buy the tank and fuel pump and find a way of patching over the current fuel filler then moving it to behind the rear wheel to suit the TD5 tank.

The only problem we had was that the submersible pump is usually lubricated by the diesel, however petrol isn't as thick and caused the pump to seize.

If you already have the parts, then it may be easier to stick with the current position.

No need for to use the derv pump…..run an inline with a second lift pump at the rear

filter can be inline as well, no different really to running a 109 with a V8 up front, I had the standard in tank petrol pump in that feeding a facet gold flow pump and it pulled everything out of the tank no problem

Buy a pump from a 50th anniversary v8 petrol

Or a US spec , in tank pump might fit (maybe even a disco I). All US spec rovers are petrol. I only imagine the float would need some tweaking on the disco pump.

Probably cheaper to do a pickup and inline pump, though.
