I have an 03 plate Discovery TD5 that has developed an sudden loss of power.

There is no smoke and no misfire - just no power.

There is a distinct lack of Turbo boost but pre turbo power also seems a little rubbish.

I have unplugged the Map, Maf and Turbo waste gate sensors - this made no difference

The intercooler pipes seem ok - no delamination or leaks.

The turbo is spinning and the waste gate seems to move ok (by hand)

There doesn't seem to be any oil at the ECU  - thats gotta be a first

The fuel pump seems to be working ok

No dash lights

I do know the fuel pressure reg is a bit iffy with a very slight leak.

I'm a bit flumoxed really.:confused::confused:

Any more ideas before I give in and take it to a garage?:(

You have changed the fuel and air filtre.
Experience of fuel pump problem it will start to missfire when you boot it, but fine ploding along

i have the same thing with mine and spent lost off cash and still no joy hope u get it done soon mine driving me to near death

Thanks gang

I'm getting the local Landrover guys to put it on the notebook tomorrow.

Hopefully that will give me a starting point.

I hate taking my car to the garage for anything - it makes me feel like a failure:rolleyes:;)

I still reckon it's something fairly minor.

The cam position sensor is indeed a possible problem.

Had the same with my diso td5 03 auto (62k).

I changed :- Maf sensor, fuel filter, injector wiring loom (oil present at the ecu) re-wired other part of injection loom to ecu to rule out remaining oil making it's way out ............ none of this worked !

It was the fuel pump ....... 30 min job to change and the best price i found was Island 4X4 (kent) mail order.

Good luck

Col.
