hi all
i have done some work on my td5 i changed the injector seals and washers, fuel regulator, fuel pump, crank sensor, fuel filter, air bleed valve and injector harness. i took it in to do this as it was rough starting and was told it was the injector seals. now i have done all this it starts and struggles to run for a few moments then conks out i have tried all ways to bleed and even towed it, any advice on this would be much apreciated many thanks.
matt

just as a thought if the injector valves are not adjusted correctly would it cause this.

discovery2.co.uk has a good write up on correct adjustment
have you tryed the auto purge key in position 2 pump accelorater pedal 5/6 times up n down this sets of the mil lamp and lasts around 3 minutes repeate this 10 times if necisary

did you use genuine washers/seals?...if the answer is not YES replace them again with genuine ones and work EXTREMELY clean there.... no dust/dirt is allowed

hi
if i can remember i think they was bearmach ones, i will try purging again tommorow as well as following the website to correctly adjusting the valves
cheers

Hi Matt, if you turn the key to pos II can you hear the fuel pump working?

Dave

Hi dave
I turn the key to pos 2 i can hear the pump goin and i hear it hissing a little from the fpr not sure if that is normal.
Cheera matt

Has it been plugged in, could be ecu. FPR don't usually have many issues, when they go wrong they leak oil which will be present on the bottom of it.

Ok well i have a video of the engine which i was goin to try and upload a link to . It makes me think has to be air in it to hiss but cant seen to understand why the engine would be knocking.
cheers

I also tried undoing the air bleed valve and got the wife to turn the pump on to push the air out then tightened up when nessecary.

ive also tried that to, ive changed almost everything fuel related on the engine. i had it plugged in only came up with two sensors which are now new. cheers

That's more like a stuck injector as it knocks due to overfilling and then it misfires and cuts out. Can you help keep it running with throttle?
