TD5 Pilot

Hi Guys
My Discovery TD5 will not pull away on a incline some times Ivehad to put it into low box to pull away. It just feels like it hasn't got the tourqe. It has been feeling down on power too some times it starts off sluggish then all of a sudden its like it gets sudden shot of boost and power restored. Any one else suffered this. Recent Siemens OEM pump fitted new fuel filter new fuel regulator and filter clear in head. Turbo waste gate is good no engine light on

Hi there, don't know if your truck has one but my 03 behaves a bit like that when the catalytic convertor is choked up. Despite my normal suspicion re "snake oil" 2 doses of Cataclean have made a difference.

spot on mate its coming up to 200K miles on it im going to drop the exhaust of the down pipe and see how it goes maybe its blocked

I would also disconnect your MAF sensor and see if there is any improvement. This only takes 30 seconds to do with no cost involved. If there is a marked improvement you can leave it unplugged until you have time to replace it.

Check the MAP/IAT sensor. Mine did that. With help from on here I checked the data while it was running which proved that even though clean, it was fubar.

Thanks Guys
Il look at the both those sensors the MAF seems to be common on the TD5 would anyone have data i should be looking for

If your TD5 is the one in your avatar pic it looks early, i.e. pre-facelift so I am a little surprised it even has a cat.
If it has a 15p or 16p engine then just unplugging the MAF will have a more dramatic effect than if it was on a 10p engine.
sorry

Update, and so as not to bother @sierrafery
Here is my thread which dealt with this and shows what to look for on live data.
