Hi guys,

I'm after a bit of help :)

My TD5 Disco makes skidding noises on going round corners, either direction. The handling doesn't seem too bad, and it isn't related to acceleration. Even going round corners at a relatively sensible speed makes it sound like a boyracer skidding around the corner.

I don't mind the sound effects, but it's getting a bit embarrassing when going round a roundabout at around 20mph!

Any suggestions as to what is the most likely culprit? Appears it's the front tyres.....!

Cheers,

David

Aye, that makes a bit of a difference, but even on the correct pressures the squealing continues :-(

I did wonder whether new front shocks/springs might do it...

Another thought was radius arm bushes at the front, but I'm not entirely sure and would rather get it right the first time than start on a mission that might well not solve the problem!

I hope not!

My selector doesn't have the diff lock option, whether it's actually present on the txfer box or not I don't know as I've never looked.

The light certainly ISNT on on the dash...!

My eventual answer to this (for anyone finding this thread one day in the future!) is a bit vague.

As part of a suspension overhaul (>110k miles), I replaced front radius arm bushes (polybushed), ARB drop links, shocks and springs, and the squealing vanished.

Sadly, I've no idea which of the above sorted it, but the problem was there somewhere!
